Library Director

Highly Recommend! I've had Art Kids Academy at my library 2-3 times each summer for the past few years, and they're always a big hit. They give a short presentation about the program's topic (artist, technique, etc.) and follow it up with activities and a demonstration. The kids are always very excited to work on their masterpieces and show them off to their friends. Brandon and Jennifer are excellent- they explain things well and really encourage the kids to try new things. I've already booked them for 3 programs this summer!

The Art Kids Academy is a great place for children to learn about art. Not only do the children learn about different art techniques and mediums but they get to interact and work together with their peers. It is great social development for them, especially at a day in age where electronics can dominate their social environment. To us what is unique about the program is that in the beginning of every class the children learn about the history of the artist and the art medium they will be working on for that day. What truly stands out as well is that at the end of the class there is a critique period where all the children gather their art work and they get to choose and critique their peers’ work. The art teacher also allows the parents to join in and provide their critique. What a great way to integrate the parents into their children’s art. The teachers at Art Kids Academy truly love art and it shows just how much they also love working with kids. I highly recommend the program to all aspiring young artists and those who simply just want a creative outlet.

My son's experience with the Academy programs has been truly remarkable. After each class he would come home so inspired and excited to tell me all about the artist he learned about. Those conversations would lead us booth to googling that artist and learn more about his/her work, then do more painting at home. As a parent who comes from a fine art background, I couldn't wish for a better outcome. I think the effort and the research put by the artists who run the program to make each project age appropriate, educational as well as inspiring is tremendous. They truly love what they do.
